Article Search Guide

Finding Articles

See if Hebrew College owns the journal: Check Serials Solutions to see if we have the journal in print and/or electronic format. Note: Hebrew-language journals are not included in Serials Solutions.

  • Serials Solutions: If the article you need is available through one of our full-text online resources, link to it directly from Serials Solutions.

  • If we have the journal in print, check holdings using the journal card catalog boxes, located on the Hebrew card catalog, on the main level near the public computers. Each English or Hebrew journal is listed on a separate card in alphabetical order. The card lists volume holdings for that title. Current issues of journals are located on the main level. Bound volumes (back issues) are shelved alphabetically by title on the upper level. View Hebrew College Library Journals in Hard Copy [PDF - 20k].

  • If the journal is in Hebrew, check the Hebrew-language journal card box, located on the Hebrew card catalog, on the main level of the library near the computers. Current issues of journals are located on the main level. Bound volumes (back issues) are shelved alphabetically by title on the upper level.

  • If the article is not available in the Library or online, you may request an interlibrary loan (ILL) to receive a copy of the article electronically. Submit an Interlibrary Loan Request Form or contact the circulation desk in person, via email or over the telephone at 617-559-8750.

    Looking for Articles from Citations

Periodical indexes can be searched by subject, title, or author to find citations for articles and/or full text articles. When you have an article citation from an index, check the journal title in Serials Solutions to see whether Hebrew College has the issue online or in print. If the library does not have the journal, we may get you the article through Interlibrary Loan.
