Hebrew College Online
  Technical Requirements
   

Participation in Hebrew College's online courses requires an email account and access to the Internet. Technical assistance will be provided to participants throughout the course. During the first few days, participants will be given an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the online environment and address any technical issues that may arise.

Operating System
MacOS 10.2 or later, Windows 2000 or XP. Although we have not yet completed testing on Windows Vista, some students are already successfully using all our tools on their Vista systems.
(Older versions of operating systems may work but are not supported.)

Computer CPU
Pentium processor or Macintosh G3 processor with a minimum speed of 600MHz

RAM
256MB or more

Modem
DSL, cable modem, or faster

Voice Communications
Most courses include audio conferencing in some form.
Students need a:
  • Java-enabled web browser (usually part of a typical browser setup)
  • Sound card installed (usually part of a typical computer setup)
  • External headset with microphone (Internet chat headsets can be purchased inexpensively at any electronics or office supply store)

Windows: Mozilla Firefox version 2.0 or higher, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher
Mac: Mozilla Firefox version 2.0 or higher, Apple Safari 2.0 or higher
(Other browsers may work but are not supported.)
